NOTICE CONCERNING CLASS PARTIES AND TREATS FOR STUDENTS Dear Parents, San Marino School Policy does not permit classroom birthday parties. We also do not allow flowers, balloons, or any other items to be sent to the classroom. These are disruptive to the educational process. Also, School and District Policy do not allow teachers to hand out cupcakes, cookies, or any other sweet treat to the class in celebration of individual students' special days. This is part of our Wellness policy and also protects against students getting something at school that they have an allergy to. We know this is a change and that we are use to bringing these things for our students, but in order to assure all of our students' safety these rules will be strictly enforced. Additionally this year due to the lack of custodial help, all parties will be held outside of the classroom and no food or drink will be allowed in the classroom without express permission of Principal Helms.
Sincerely, R.L. Helms, Principal |
